There’s often a moment, before a website begins, where something doesn’t quite feel aligned.

For this client, that moment came after speaking with several designers. Everything looked fine on the surface—but something was missing. The work felt transactional, rather than relational. Structured, but not intuitive. Professional, but not felt.

When we first spoke, what stood out wasn’t just what she needed—but how she wanted to feel while building it.

Supported. Understood. Not alone in the process.

The Starting Point

She was building a holistic business—one rooted in care, depth, and intention.

And like many in this space, she wasn’t just looking for a website.

She was looking for someone who could:

  • understand the nuance of her work

  • translate something deeply personal into a digital space

  • offer guidance where things felt unclear

It wasn’t about finding a designer. It was about finding the right one.

A Different Kind of Process

Our work began, as it always does, with a discovery call.

Not just to gather information—but to listen.

To understand:

  • the feeling behind the brand

  • the people she hoped to reach

  • the quiet hesitations and uncertainties that often go unspoken

From there, the process unfolded collaboratively.

Each step was designed to feel steady and supported:

  • shaping the structure of the site

  • refining the messaging so it felt true to her voice

  • designing a visual identity that reflected both professionalism and warmth

Alongside the website, I also created her logo—ensuring everything felt cohesive, intentional, and aligned from the very beginning.

Beyond the Website

One of the things I care deeply about in this work is what happens around the website.

Because building a business—especially a holistic one—can feel overwhelming at times.

Questions arise that go beyond design:

  • How do I position my offerings?

  • What should I prioritise first?

  • How do I make this feel sustainable?

While these weren’t formally part of our project, they became part of our conversations.

And in many ways, this is where the work deepens.

Not just creating a website—but supporting the person behind it.

In Her Words: A Client Story

“I spoke with many website designers while searching for the right person to create a website for my holistic business, but none of them felt quite right — until I spoke to Ashley.”
“We had a discovery call and I knew straight away that she was the perfect fit.”“I truly couldn’t recommend Ashley more highly. She is a perfectionist, and has an incredible work ethic.”
“I was honestly amazed at how well she translated my vision into the website, and how beautifully everything came together.”
“She has gone out of her way to guide and advise me on important aspects of building my business that I simply wouldn’t have known about otherwise.”
“Her support has been invaluable and she has come to feel like a mentor as I grow my business.”
“Choosing to work with Ashley has genuinely been one of the best decisions I’ve made.”

Where We Landed

The final result was more than a website.

It was a space that:

  • reflects her work with clarity and care

  • communicates her offerings with confidence

  • feels aligned with who she is and how she wants to show up

And just as importantly—she didn’t feel alone in creating it.

Even as this initial phase came to a close, we’ve continued working together, supporting the next stages of her business as it grows. It's a client story like this that inspires me to continue helping others bring their holistic offerings to the world.

A Final Reflection

This is the kind of work I value most.

Not just designing something that looks good—but creating a process that feels supportive, collaborative, and grounded from beginning to end.

Because when someone feels held in the process, what they create has the space to truly reflect who they are.
